Finishes: What is the difference between eggshell, satin and gloss paint?

Your woodwork can be painted in 3 different finishes.

• Gloss is the shiniest finish, possibly the one you are most familiar with.
• Satin is a mid-sheen finish and is the most popular choice nowadays as it has a sheen without being too shiny.
• Eggshell is the flattest finish for your woodwork and the most traditional finish in period properties. It is often used to give a seamless finish when painting your walls and woodwork the same colour.
