Yes.
All of our work is guaranteed for 12 months.
Yes. We have insurance that covers all of the work we do.
Absolutely not!! All of our quotes are free of charge.
We use cloud technology to create your quote so you should receive your quote a few minutes after the survey is completed. If you haven’t received the quote by the next day, get in touch and we can re-send it to you.
It’s simple, just click on the accept button at the top of your quote.
Yes, of course.
If you email us details of what parts of the quote you would like to proceed with, we can update your details
Yes.
If you have several projects coming up, it makes sense to get a quote for everything at the same time. We can do that on separate quotes or all on the same quote. You should receive all of the quotes on the day of your appointment.
Our lead time varies throughout the year and is affected by the volume of work and weather. Some parts of the year are more busy than others, such as the Christmas run-up.
When you accept your work, you will receive an email telling you how long you will likely wait.
You will be given a start day and informed of what team will complete your work about a week before your start date.
You will receive an email roughly a week before your work is due to start. This will inform you what day we will be with you and who your team of painters are.
If anything happens after that email to cause a delay, we will always let you know. You will never be left waiting for a painter who won’t be there.
Some of the details we need are:
- Colour and finish choices a week before we start
- Access information. Will someone be there to let us in, or do we need to collect keys, or do we need a key box code?
- Do we need to set an alarm? If so, the code details for that.
- If your property has tenants, the tenant’s contact details
As soon as possible, but at least a week before your job is due to start. This allows us to order or prepare your paint to be ready and on-site on day one of your job. Delays in choosing your colours can cause delays in the work being completed.
The colours we have in our machine are:
- Isle of Skye
- Farrow and Ball
- Craig and Rose
- Paint and Paper Library
- Dulux Trade
- NCS
- RAL
- British Standard
Matt emulsion is the most common paint chosen to paint walls. It has very little sheen and can often be touched up if damage occurs on the wall. It cannot, however, be washed, and if you do try to wash it, you will see the paint come off on your sponge or cloth.
Durable emulsion is sometimes called kitchen and bathroom paint or soft sheen. It is an emulsion paint that has a slight sheen, which allows you to wash it. Don’t confuse it with vinyl silk, which is much shinier and no longer as popular as it once was. This means it works well in high-traffic areas such as halls, kitchens and bathrooms. It can’t be touched up, and if damage occurs that requires a re-paint, you will need to paint the whole wall to prevent the repair from being visible (flashing).
Your woodwork can be painted in 3 different finishes.
- Gloss is the shiniest finish, possibly the one you are most familiar with.
- Satin is a mid-sheen finish and is the most popular choice nowadays as it has a sheen without being too shiny.
- Eggshell is the flattest finish for your woodwork and the most traditional finish in period properties. It is often used to give a seamless finish when painting your walls and woodwork the same colour.
Not any more. Technology in paints has advanced enormously in recent years, and the move towards a more sustainable industry has led to water-based paints now being as durable as oil-based paints. Water-based paints dry more quickly, smell less, have less VOC’s and are more eco-friendly than oil or solvent-based paints.
The areas that are being decorated will be covered with dust sheets and plastic sheeting.
At the end of the job, we will hoover up any dust and paint flakes.
You may find that the room gets very dusty, and that dust remains after several cleans. This may be because we have had to use and sand a lot of filler. The dust will be in the air for a few days and may take several cleans before it’s gone completely.
